An unnamed nutty professor at Darton State College (located in Albany, Georgia and a part of the Georgia State University system) kicked an armed police officer / student out of his class on Wednesday, January 27th, 2016.
And now, after the Southern States Police Benevolent Association has publicly chimed in on this outrageous act of douche baggery Darton State University’s interim Provost is publicly apologizing.
Darton’s official school policy reportedly states that: “Students are prohibited from possession of firearms in or on college property except by law enforcement officers, judges and district attorneys.” Per Tim Reichert, a spokesman for the Southern States Police Benevolent Association: “I find it a bit disturbing that someone would object to having an armed law enforcement officer in the classroom. Much less, the very professor teaching the class. We feel that because of the line of work these officers are in and the training that they receive to do their jobs, they should be allowed to carry their firearm with them in whatever setting they are in.” Says me: Hey Professor…
Memo to the Folks: Stop hating on cops. The vast majority of police officers both took oaths and take their oaths to “serve and protect” seriously. When some deranged jack wagon shows up with an AK and an attitude you’ll wish you had someone there to put her or his life in between the maniac and you or your loved one.
