Every LEO (law enforcement officer) knows that any call can be a life changing event.
But none more so than Sumter County, South Carolina Deputy Sheriff Wayne ‘Bubba’ Browder who was dispatched on Wednesday, December 9th, 2015 to the scene of a traffic accident involving a fatality…
Upon arrival at the scene Bubba’s life was forever changed, when he quickly realized that the deceased was his wife, 45 year old Teresa Browder.
Per Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Braden Bunch: “Today was a tragic day for one of our officers, as well as our entire agency, as one of our family members deals with the loss of a loved one. We ask you keep the Browder family in your thoughts and prayers as they cope with this horrible tragedy.”
Per Benjamin Barfield, a close friend of Bubba’s: “My thoughts are with a former colleague of mine Wayne ‘Bubba’ Browder at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office today. In Law Enforcement you are required to respond to a lot of vehicle fatalities throughout your career and you gain experience on how to deal with them and how to handle yourself! No amount of training and experience can prepare you when arriving on a fatality scene of a loved one!”
Memo to Deputy Sheriff Wayne ‘Bubba’ Browder: Please accept my sincerest and heartfelt condolences to your and your children on your irreplaceable and damn near incomprehensible loss. I cannot begin to imagine how you felt upon arrival at the crash scene or how that will impact your life. Wishing you and yours God’s speed for healing the hole in your hearts and lives and thanking you for all that you do.
