On Wednesday, September 9th, Stephanie was surreptitiously standing outside of a man named Jerry Shell’s Bradenton apartment as he was unloading his groceries. Per Jerry, Stephanie, whom he did not know, was no longer outside when he finished bringing up his groceries and had returned to his apartment, but in that very moment she suddenly appeared and attacked, reportedly hitting him in the head with a frying pan 15 to 20 times.
Once she was done clocking him Stephanie then reportedly dragged Jerry into his bedroom, where she bound his hands and legs with clothing and packing tape before taking his wallet from his pants.
Compounding matters, Stephanie then reportedly demanded that Jerry give her the PIN for his debit card, stating that she would come back and kill him if the PIN did not work. She then reportedly blindfolded and gagged Jerry before leaving his home.
Not withstanding all of the articles that I’ve scoured I still have no idea how either Jerry managed to call the police or how the police managed to locate Stephanie, but both things happened. Jerry was hospitalized with a trauma alert and Stephanie was found shortly afterward by police in possession of Jerry’s debit card and “two of his phones” (whatever that means). Jerry ID’d Stephanie as his attacker, leading to her arrest for burglary with battery, false imprisonment and robbery with a weapon, and she will now face life in prison.
