Can I be convicted without any physical evidence?

The answer is yes, you can be convicted without any physical evidence.

There are plenty of folks sitting in jails and prisons all across this country, some are being held pretrial and others have already been convicted of offenses without the government holding or introducing even one piece of physical evidence.

Here’s an example of how this can happen.

You and I are driving down the road in different cars and I cut you off. You get pissed off, honk your horn, pull close to my bumper… you act aggressively to get my attention… and you do. I let you pass, jot down your license plate and call the cops. I fabricate a story telling them that you pulled up on my side and pointed a gun at me. The cops get your address from your license plate and show up at your home later that evening to question you. You deny the incident. You even tell them that you don’t carry or own a gun. But they can still arrest you, the State can still charge you and a jury can still convict you… ans all on nothing more than m y sworn testimony.
