Yesterday (Monday, October 13th, 2014), 32 y/o soon-to-be-former Broward County Deputy Sheriff Ted Arboleda (and former “resigned in lieu of” Surfside, FL police officer) was himself arrested for “Unlawful compensation or reward for official behavior”, a 2nd degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in State prison, stemming from an incident which occurred while he was on duty on July 13th, 2013.
On that date Teddy allegedly accepted oral sex from a woman who he could have arrested for driving without a license, drug possession and violating her parole. Teddy had been “chatting up” a local woman at a Mobil gas station. when, during their conversation, he came to discover that the woman did not have a valid license, despite driving a car to the gas station. He also found that she was in possession of marijuana, an unlabeled bottle of prescription medication and on felony probation.
Fearing arrest, the woman offered to bribe Teddy with money to avoid legal action, but, apparently that wasn’t necessary, as Teddy reportedly let the unidentified woman keep her drugs and even offered to drive her home. When they arrived at the woman’s Dania Beach house, Teddy reportedly asked if he was going to be invited in and the woman agreed. Once inside she offered him oral sex, and, naturally, as any on duty officer who had just let a felony probationer off of new charges would have done, he accepted her gracious and unspoken “thank you”.
Unfortunately, later that same day the honorable female felon fessed up to her beau, who was none to happy about her extracurricular affairs, so the boyfriend called the cops and ratted Teddy out by reporting the incident.
Although an internal investigation commenced almost a year and a half ago, Teddy was not arrested until yesterday.
They are the minority but still, there is little worse than a “bad cop”.
