Answered . If dating includes any sort of sexual contact then you can argue with him while he sits in jail.

In Florida gender is irrelevant. What is relevant is age, and, depending upon the age, then consent. A 16 or 17 y/o can, legally / lawfully, consent to sexual relations with someone who is 23 or younger. That’s the law. Its black and white. No exceptions. No excuses. No wiggle room. If either the minor is under 16 or the adult is over 23 the its a 100% “NO”, and if both parties consent and fall within this age range then, for many reasons, it remains a delicate situation.
Again, to be clear, in Florida under 16 is a flat out no exceptions “no no”. It is absolutely and unequivocally illegal for anyone to touch anyone under 16 in any sexual manner whatsoever.

You can tell your best friend that I (a criminal defense lawyer of 23+ years experience) said so, and you can also tell him that before he continues his “dating” experience with a 14 y/o CHILD (caps intentional) that he should give greater consideration to what her parents (especially her father, if he is anything like me) will do to him, not to mention the many years that he can (and likely will) spend in prison if he doesn’t smarten up and get age appropriate.
