A group of sadistic Ft. Lauderdale teenagers has been arrested for killing a Brown pelican (like the one pictured below).
According to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission authorities surveillance video captured and showed the sadistic attack in real time. At or about 1:00 am on Friday, January 16th, 2015, a group of young men (teenagers who will all be charged as juveniles) captured and held down a defenseless brown pelican and clamped it’s beak shut after another one of the douche bags blew fumes from an e-cigarette into its beak and eyes.
The smoke was blown into the pelican’s beak by one douche whilst another held the beak shut such that the bird could not exhale, and this extreme douchebaggery was repeated until the bird finally suffocated. It is unknown whether these f*ckheaded teens knew anything about the biology of pelicans or not, but, sadly it is a fact that pelicans have no nostrils. Therefore, with it’s beak forcefully closed the bird in question could not breath, and thus it brutally died.
These kids likely would have skated and been able to continue their sadistic experiments on other unsuspecting and defenseless creatures but for the security cameras at the Venetian condominium tower, the “locus in quo” of the crime and where the the “ringleader” lives with his family.
The teens’ names and mug shots are protected by Florida’s juvenile confidential laws; sadly the brown pelican is not so fortunate. In the 1970’s it was an endangered species but not any longer. Still, these kids will be charged with violating the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act and get a slap on the wrist as juvenile offenders. Hopefully they are intelligent enough to realize how horrific their actions were and to better themselves (after all that is what separates man from beast is it not?), but if not then at least we can take comfort in knowing that Karma has a way of making things right…
This comes on the heels of a series of as of yet unsolved pelican slayings in the lower Florida Keys, for which there is a reward being offered.
