Through a group called “Austin Pets Alive” the Ritter family, of Austin, Texas, fostered a group of five (5) kittens who were awaiting permanent adoption.
During the course of the family’s sponsorship Cade Ritter, the eighteen (18) year old son who was a photography student at Rice University in Houston, in an effort to get fostered kittens adopted into permanent homes, took a series of photos in an effort to get the fostered kittens adopted into permanent homes.
While the monster above presents as a giant cat coming down the stairs of a house, teeth bared and biting for the chandelier, it is in fact a kitten which some social media users took to calling “Catzilla”, “Kat Kong” and “Fluffy Destroyer of Worlds”. But other of Cade’s photos prove that, disappointingly, the photo actually shows a normal sized kitten playfully exploring the inside of a meticulously detailed dollhouse.
As it turns out, the dollhouse is an antique which was hand made by Cade’s great-grandfather. Per Cade’s mom, artist Barbara Atwell, who is the grad-daughter of the dollhouses creator, “It’s quite the amazing piece of carpentry. It even has a working light system.”
Per social media users the combination of kittens and dollhouses was a winner as, after posting them on social media the pictures went viral and all of the kittens were adopted (except for one (1) named “Sophie” whom the Ritters kept as their own). Said one social medis viewer, “I just realized that as a cat owner, I now have a valid reason to buy a dollhouse.”
Have a ♥. Adopt a cat (or a dog), and remember that older cats (and dogs) both make excellent family members and also deserves and need forever humans. In the interim, watch out for those…
