A few weeks ago in May, 2015, a man named Audie Bridges, who is a Jewish folk singer from Wakefield, Massachusetts, came face to face with The Rock, Dwayne Johnson….
Lately he is known for crushing bad guys on the big-screen…
But more recently Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson crushed Audie Bridges’ car mirror as he drove down a Massachusetts street singing along with the tunes in his pick-up. Well after the fact, on Monday, June 15th, 2015 the 43 y/o actor took to Instagram to explain both the details of the incident and why his crash victim refused to accept payment: “Here’s a fun story to start your week off… ‘I’m driving to set in my pick up truck – music blasting – I’m singing away like I’m having a one man party in my truck – then I hear a loud BANG.” The Rock wrote that he accidentally hit the man’s vehicle, then reversed to go see the damage. When the owner came outside the two men talked in the street. Audie refused to accept any payment for the wreck from The Rock reasoning that: “Wow, this is gonna be an awesome story!”
The photo above was posted by the Rock on Instagram and shows him towering over Audie as he puts his arm around him and grins. Next to the two men dangles pieces of the mirror that was hit. The Rock had been in Massachusetts filming his upcoming movie called “Central Intelligence” which is scheduled for release in July, 2016. He may be a box office smashing Hollywood action hero but to me the Rock will always be “The People’s Champion”….

Memo to the Folks: If you have a car accident please stop. If no one else is involved, if there is just property damage and if you cannot locate the owner of the damaged property then you can leave your name, insurance and contact information and continue on your way. But if there is another person involved, or if there is any chance of personal injury then stop, report the accident and stay put until the cops show up. In FL it is a 2nd degree misdemeanor to leave the scene of an accident (“LSA”) with property damage, it is a 3rd degree felony to LSA with injuries, a 2nd degree felony if there is serious bodily injury (“SBI”) and a 1st degree felony with a 4 year minimum-mandatory term of imprisonment if a death is involved (please see Florida Statutes 316.061 and 316.027)
