On July 4th, 2015 at approximately 11:00 pm a Curry County, New Mexico Sheriff’s Deputy responded to mile marker 3 along State Road 245 near Clovis after getting a call about a man walking around in the nude. As he attempted to make contact with the suspect the responding Deputy wisely switched on his body camera, capturing the incident in all of it’s glory (you can see video footage of what landed Jesus in (not on) hot water right here). The resulting footage begins with Jesus sitting on the asphalt in the buff.
As a car approaches that stretch of the road Jesus rises to his feet and tries to flag down the driver, racing after the car, but without success. At this point the Deputy orders Jesus to walk over to a patch of grass, but instead the man approaches the officer’s squad car and leans on the hood. After telling the Deputy that he had been poisoned Jesus jumped into the squad car, which was left running and unlocked, and peeled off. “Sir, sir! Hey, get out of there!” the audibly furious Deputy shouts, and moments later Jesus’ voice is heard over the squad car radio saying: “I need help, this officer didn’t want to help me. I’m poisoned, that’s why i got the car.” According to the sheriff’s office, the buck-naked man driving the Curry County Sheriff’s unit then raced to the Plains Regional Medical Center where he was apprehended by another Deputy. Jesus was treated for unspecified injuries he had sustained before coming into contact with any Sheriff’s Deputies.
