Meet Amber Campbell and John Arwood, a Florida couple who were, well, apparently confused. Yes, that’s them below…
And again…
Although neither of them attend the Daytona State College’s Marine and Environmental Science Center, and although the school was closed for the holidays, there they were, all the way from Sunday, December 28th, 2014 right up until Tuesday, January 30th, 2014. By way of explanation the couple claimed that they had been chased into the closet on Sunday and were thereafter trapped inside.
Their presence on the campus remaining unexplained, cops believe that the couple had holed themselves up in the janitorial closet to smoke meth and that they simply got so whacked out that they actually believed that they had been locked inside. In point of fact the door did not even lock. Cops opened the door, without either a key or a battering ram, after the couple finally called 911 from their apparently self-imposed prison, and the call had been traced, leading law enforcement to the closet in question.
Upon opening the unlocked closet door cops found feces and copper scouring pads, which are commonly used for smoking crack cocaine and / or meth. Although no drugs were found cops claimed that they could still smell meth in the dank feces ridden closet. And, yes, a cop did go inside and close the closet door… it did not lock and opened right up. Meantime, Amber, who was on probation for her 2013 escape case, is now out of the closet and into the cell (literally), facing both a new trespassing charge and a probation violation hearing.
Her beau, Johnny-boy, not withstanding his own alleged extensive criminal past (including armed burglary, felony drug charges and fleeing and eluding) is also out of the closet and faces a meager trespassing charge.
Memo to Amber and John: I am not a couples’ counselor but I’m thinking that, now that you are out of the closet, maybe you should use this time to stay separated and find yourselves.
