Q: What are my consequences? I was arrested for a dui but charged with a reckless driving. Part of the deal is to complete 50hrs of community service. I enrolled at this animal shelter but two days later the supervisor called me to tell me not to come back. That day I went to the shelter I was sick but he said that he couldn’t tolerate my “behavoir.” Do I still get to go to do those hrs somewhere else? What will happen once the PO finds out?
A: You have to do 50 CSH’s, and you have 6 or 12 months in which to do them (presumably). Unless you were Court Ordered to do them in a particular location, where is irrelevant (provided that it is an acceptable charitable, educational, religious, government or otherwise approved entity). Why you got booted shouldn’t matter (unless you committed a criminal offense in the process).
Start doling CSH’s somewhere else, stay out of trouble and don;t sweat it.
As an aside, I recommend fostering animals from your local Humane Society. You will earn an easy (and self-rewarding – if you are an animal lover) 2 CSH’s for each 24 hour day that you foster a cat or a dog.
I hope that I have been helpful in answering your question.
