Try as I might I can’t find a picture of 33 y/o Baytown, Texas Police Officer and SWAT Team member Michael Coppock (but that below is a pic from the Baytown Sun on January 15, 2013 when members of the Baytown SWAT Team had converged on a home where a man was reportedly attempting to commit suicide, and perhaps Coppock is one of those para-military clad officers)…
Regardless, Officer Coppock is presently the subject of a criminal investigation, after an 18 y/o motorist, whom he had cited for both speeding and an expired registration came forward and reportedly provided (other) police with proof that less than one hour after the traffic stop Coppock contacted her on social media (Instagram) and offered to change the tickets to warnings if the teen would send him naked pictures of herself.
Memo to the Folks: Jon Stewart said it well…
Memo to the Folks continued: I have no idea whether Coppock engaged in this incredibly disturbing (not to fail to mention illegal) conduct or not, but the proof – in the form of seemingly irrefutable social media evidence – is damning.
Memo to the Folks continued: Every time you use social media (or access technology) you leave a digital fingerprint, and this sort of evidence (electronic evidence) is brutal….
Memo to the Folks continued: Social Media: It’s all fun and nice until it’s introduced into evidence against you in Court. Memo to (in my opinion soon-to-be-ex-)Officer Michael Coppock:
