Hamilton County, Ohio Corrections take its religious activities seriously, especially when it comes to heroin laced holy scripture..
Tehani Teepe, a 39 y/o formerly free Southwest Ohio woman (pictured below) who is now a “guest” of the Butler County Jail, was arrested for introducing contraband into another correctional facility.
It seems that Tahani mailed a Bible to her significant other. 28 y/o Timothy King (pictured below), who was, at the time a “guest” residing at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
The Bible that Tehani mailed to Timothy was found (by way of a K-9’s alert – all inmate mail is opened read and even sniffed before it is tendered to the incarcerant) to contain 30-40 “hits” of heroin in the form of a “coffee-like stain” in the first book of Daniel. Ironically enough the heroin was pressed into page number 420, a well-know reference to marijuana consumption.
Authorities have called this effort “inventive”, but I am sure that prosecuting attorney will find a much more nefarious description for the venture. If convicted in Ohio then both the poster (Tehani) and the recipient (Timothy) each face up to five (5) years in prison. If convicted in the afterlife, at the pearly gates, well, then that sentence is likely to be much more permanent….
Memo to the Folks: Jails are controlled by the government. They are regimented facilities within which its “guests” (inmates) have virtually no rights. They are told when to sleep when to shower (and with whom) what to eat, what they may read, whom they may contact or have contact with and absolutely every connection (in absolutely every form – be it in person, over the phone by mail or otherwise) with anyone on the outside is monitored, recorded and potentially used as evidence against someone(s).
Neither incarcerants nor those who either visit or send mail or speak over the phone to an incarcerant, enjoy any 4th Amendment protection whatsoever. Corrections facilities are 4th Amendment “black holes”, waiting to suck you into oblivion. Forewarned is forearmed.
