Social Media Snafu:  Boston Red Sox’s Pablo Sandoval gets Caught “Liking” a Woman’s Sexy Instagram Pictures in the Middle of a Ball Game For those of you who don;t know him meet the Boston Red… Scroll down to read more!

For those of you who don;t know him meet the Boston Red Sox’s third baseman Pablo Sandoval (who’s 2014 salary was a meager $8.25 million for “playing ball” and who has a base salary of $17 mil this year with a $600k signing bonus meaning that in 2015 Sandoval’s salary is $17.6 mil)…

Pablo got busted by Jared Carrabis (who is described as a “Barstool sports blogger”during a baseball game on Wednesday, June 17th, 2015, using his smart phone to ‘like’ a woman’s sexy Instagram photograph, two (2) of them, these two (2) actually…

Per time stamps, the “likes” were posted during the 7th inning while Sandoval’s team was doing battle against the Atlanta Braves.  Btw, the Red Sox lost the game 5-2…

The woman is known is as ‘diva_legacy’ on Instagram and she did nothing wrong, but Sandoval was in violation of the team’s social media policy, not to fail to mention being in violation of the rules of good judgment, common sense and sportsmanship as a team player.  Although he was not fined Red Sox Manager John Farrell benched Sandoval from Thursday’s game.  Memo to BoSox Manager John Farrell:  Way NOT to make a point there John, you douche… A one (1) game suspension with NO fine and then permitting Sandoval to lace up and join the lineup 48 hours later for a game against the Kansas City Royals, well you may as well have meted out no punishment at all, and there is certainly not going to be any deterrent effect.  While your team performs poorly this season – losing eight (8) of their nine (9) last games and with Sandoval himself committing nine (9) errors, one (1) which directly led to a team loss, I’d think that you’d be a little more concerned with both focusing your overpaid, spoiled players on winning and setting a precedent for what will happen to those who fail to give their kush “jobs”  anything less than 1,000%.  But that’s just me, a guy who thinks that baseball is merely an alleged “sport”, played by significantly over-paid pansy’s in tights.)

Per Jared Carrabis, the man who inadvertently outed Sandoval:  “I noticed the player’s in-game social media activity and tweeted a photo of the Instagram feed along with the words: ‘Not to blow up the dude’s spot, but uh…is Pablo Sandoval on Instagram during the game?'”  Well, contrary to his intentions, the blogger did, in fact, “blow up the dude’s spot”, and rightfully so.  The tweet has been retweeted more than 400 times, “favorited” more than 500 and, naturally, as soon as media sites saw the blog post they “ran with the ball” (note that I used a FOOTBALL – which is a “real sport” – expression).

Per Sandoval:  “I know I f*cked up” Sandoval told ESPN yesterday (Thursday, June 18th, 2015).  “I made a mistake, I learned from that.  I’m a human being, I made a mistake, so I apologize to my teammates, to the team, to the organization the fans support.”  Memo to Mario Sandoval:  For a guy who makes money like you, doing what you presumably love to do, this is completely inexcusable behavior.  Wtf were you thinking?  Why do you have a cell phone anywhere near you  during a ball game? There are 162 games in a baseball season and you will be paid $17.6 mil this year, meaning that you earn $108,641.97 PER GAME… and you can’t leave your cell phone in the locker room and pay attention?  Your behavior and choice of actions are disgraceful, disgusting and disrespectful, and they send the wrong message to your teammates, to the league and to fans – especially to kids who learn from and who will emulate you – everywhere.   You are way lucky that I am not your Manager because I’d suspend your ass for the balance of the season just to make the point to others, and then I’d move to strip you of your salary.  Yes ‘diva_legacy’ is hot, but so freaking what?  Grow up and thank your deity everyday for both the talent with which you were born for and the luck that you had to be able to make ridiculous money using it.

Incidentally this is not the first time that Red Sox players have exhibited “less than exemplary behavior off the field”.  In 2011, three players ate fried chicken and drank beer in the clubhouse during a game in the season’s final month.
