Meet Captain Clay Higgins. That’s him below….
Capt. Higgins is a tough taking law man, and he backs his words up… in this case he does so with heavily armed deputies.
That (above) is a still clip from a video (which you can watch by clicking here) which Capt. Higgins posted to his Facebook page where he sent a very direct and blunt message to “the Gremlins”, a local street gang which is accused of being responsible for murder, theft, drug crimes, witness intimidation and going so far as to post photos on social media of themselves armed with weapons and publishing rap music videos online. With their crimes and social media braggery the gang caught the attention of law enforcement and 17 members were indicted. The 10 pictured below have been arrested…
“You will be hunted. You will be tracked. And if you raise your weapon to a man like me, we’ll return fire with superior power.” Capt. Higgins says that the Gremlins have been terrorizing the local community around St. Landry Parish, where he is based, and that “every one of these animals is most definitely armed and dangerous.” In his video Capt. Higgins addresses a specific alleged gang member stating: “You think men like these are afraid of an uneducated, 125 lbs punk like you? That’s never won a fair fight in your life, and holds your gun sideways? ‘I’ll meet you on solid ground anytime, anywhere, light or heavy, makes no difference to me. You won’t walk away.”
“The Gremlin street gang is all bad. And the fact that they’re so extremely violent, every day that they’re lose is a danger to the community. I’m hopeful that the Acadiana community can make a strong stand, and by extension, perhaps the country, will hear this message and make a strong, unified stand.”
Capt. Higgins’ Facebook page has more than 20,000 likes and he has launched a website that sells merchandise (like t-shirts and shot glasses with his face and name on them, some bearing slogans like “Pay Attention Son” and “Redemption”) which feature his likeness. Interestingly (and charitably), all proceeds from Capt. Higgins’ web store reportedly go toward helping the homeless and crime victims.
Or Capt. Higgins?
