In his mug shot A-Gonz looks like he was shot in the face, because he was shot in face….
A-Gonz broke into a Las Vegas home, gaining entry by coming through a back door, and unwittingly setting off a burglar alarm in the process. Residents heard the alarm, saw A-Gonz struggling with the door and then noticed that he had a large knife in his pocket.
As for A-Gonz, who reportedly has prior arrests for attempted home invasion robbery and drug trafficking, he told police that he was in possession of a knife and entered the home because he was being chased.
A-Gonz was taken to University Medical Center after he was found in the kitchen bleeding from his face and arm and was later booked into the Clark County Detention Center, charged with burglary while in possession of a deadly weapon. He was also found to have been in possession of a container containing what is believed to be methamphetamine (it’s at the lab being tested).
Memo to the Folks: Per “Wiki”, “A castle doctrine (also known as a castle law or a defense of habitation law) is a legal doctrine that designates a person’s abode (or, in some countries, any legally occupied place [e.g., a vehicle or workplace]) as a place in which that person has certain protections and immunities permitting him or her, in certain circumstances, to use force (up to and including deadly force) to defend himself or herself against an intruder, free from legal responsibility/prosecution for the consequences of the force used.” Essentially the castle doctrine says that your home is your castle and you are free to use deadly force to protect it. Note that States will vary in recognizing the castle doctrine and may place limits on your ability to immunize yourself if you shoot someone inside of your own home.
