Meet 30 y/o Hallie Amick, 30, of Des Moines, Iowa. That’s her below…
Hallie is the mother of a 2 y/o boy, and now she is in contention to be the cover model for Sh*t Parenting magazine.
Hallie made it onto the police radar after cops had pulled over her boyfriend, James Robinson, for speeding. By way of explanation Robinson told the cops that he was rushing home because there was a child alone. And, as the cops discovered, right he was.
The boyfriend led the cops to Hallie’s house where they reportedly found her 2 y/o son in the back yard wearing a full, sagging diaper (the diaper was reportedly so full that it sagged to the toddler’s knees), a t-shirt, and sucking on a piece of uncooked chicken. Cops also reportedly witnessed a small terrier in the yard that jumped on the toddler in an effort to grab the meat out of his hands.
According to police they got to the home at approximately 10:15 am and Hallie returned home more than two hours after their arrival. When confronted with the reality of the situation Hallie initially insisted that this was the first time that she had left her son home alone, but when confronted with the neighbor’s reports of her conduct Hallie allegedly admitted to leaving her son on his own on “occasion.”
Cops reportedly interviewed neighbors who told them that the boy would often be left without supervision and that the boy was once found alone in the middle of the street. These statements coupled with the observations led to Hallie’s arrest on child endangerment charges, but when a search of the home yielded marijuana and drug paraphernalia narcotics charges were tacked on as well. And, compounding her problems, caseworkers from the Iowa Department of Human Services were called to the scene and are now involved as well.
