Although the initial observation and identification was made earlier the matter was kept quiet until June 23rd, 2015 when members of the Bibb County Sheriffs Office, Butts County Sheriffs Office, Lamar County Sheriffs Office, Georgia Bureau of Investigation, Georgia State Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Natural Resources were all called in to help harvest and dismantle the crop. The plants were seized and loaded into a full-size dump truck, but no arrests have been made.
Memo to the GA Legislature: When all is said and done I’d be much obliged if you would see fit to kindly tally up and then to publish the full amount of funds expended during the course of this particular investigation, including the total number of manpower and man-hours, expense relative to investigation, operations, equipment, transportation, storage and even “scrap” costs from start to finish. I am curious what the bottom dollar cost to the good taxpayers of the Peach State was versus the potential net profit in taxes were you sage enough to decriminalize and tax the product. I don’t know what you spent in this little escapade (which, by the way had the by-product of producing oxygen and hemp… commodities which naturally occur as a result of marijuana cultivation) but even my pathetic math skills tell me that a meager 6% sales tax (and I imagine that folks would happily pay a significantly higher tax percentage for recreational marijuana, in fact I believe that it is 12.9% in CO) on $100 million is $6 million dollars. I wonder if you could have used that net gain instead of whatever ridiculous net loss you expended in your destined-to-fail war on drugs, well at least this particular (should-not-be-)controlled substance. I suggest that you wake up and smell the sensimilla (you 17th century minded, prurient douchebags).
