Puer, who formerly was employed by the Bush School (a private K-12 with tuition ranging from $23,000.00 – $31,000.00 per year), had worked at there for more than fifteen (15) years, before getting caught, and convicted, in British Columbia for child pornography and voyeurism charges.
Puer’s initial arrest occurred when three (3) members of Bush School’s cross country ski team found a Luminex video camera hidden in their bedroom at the Silver Star Resort in Vernon, British Columbia, during a five-day ski trip in December 2013. The girls, who were between the ages of 14 and 16 at the time, first thought that it was a prank, until they played back the video and saw their coach setting up the camera in their room, at which time the students notified a chaperon who then called the cops.
Following his arrest in British Columbia Paur was subsequent extradited to the U.S. where he was charged with producing child pornography. On Monday, November 2nd, 2015 the once-beloved ski instructor and mentor pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a reduced count of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. At a hearing held prior to his extradition Paur took full responsibility for his actions and apologized to his victims stating: “I’m completely ashamed of my behavior and have just been totally consumed by remorse for what I did.” Puer’s federal indictment alleged that he used the X-rated images of the teenage students for his own sexual gratification and transported the girls to Canada knowing he intended to take the videos. Under the plea deal, he faces up to ten (10) years in prison when he is sentenced February 2, 2016. Memo to Jason Puer:
